Out of the Race

I am so glad to be out of the race. No pressure, no worrying what everyone else is doing, that everyone else has a ring, that everyone else has a baby... none.

Its the time. I thought that other bloggers were a little funny when they said that they had their first baby, but their friends had seconds... and they were behind. I mean, once you have one, you are set, right?

Well, for me yes. I definitely felt a little wary about getting engaged, when when when. The same for having a baby. Second- seriously- whenever hashem deems it the time. Im at the point where all of my friends here who married a bit before me- have two, or are almost about to have two. I know that some of my friends feel the pressure- they have admitted to me that they do. I don't. Really. Im not even trying to convince you, me, or anyone else.

I feel so happy. So hopeful for the future. And I wanted to relay the message. The race DOES end. It really does!!!

The race does not end for everyone. Even for some people who aren't in a race with anyone but their own mortality.

Just something I inferred- please correct me if I'm wrong- are people only out of the 'race' when they have 2 kids- or did I totally infer that without basis?

I have more to comment, but I'm a bit confused on that point first.

Some people are always in the race. It's a lot more about them...their personality...than the race. You have the right attitude.

I have trouble undertsanding this....Getting married ,having a baby - for yourselves and your own desires, or to compete with others?

Im sure for some people, that the race never ends. 1, 2, 3.. etc. I am sorry that I felt it before, to get married, etc. But its nice knowing that really, the only person you are competing with is yourself.

And no- I didnt do all of those things for a competition. For me- I wanted them. Just the fact that everyone seemed to have them already made me want it more. I am saying that now I finally feel that those chains have let loose on me. I didn't mean it that I feel it now.

Sorry, but you are SO the wrong person to be telling the blogosphere that "the race ends." Were you even old enough to buy alcohol when you got married?
