Hey everyone- this is just your typical announcement to let you know that I am, officially, engaged.
Yes me. I know. *shriek* I left the singles club and joined the terrified, shivering marrieds to be. And you know what? That planet that everyone says I am supposed to have been lifted to, or that feeling of euphoria that was supposed to come over me... has not yet arrived.
I am a very logical, analytical person who thinks things through way too much. And though I will tell most of the story of how I ended up where I am now- I must say that it is nothing like anyone tells you. Most of what people state, is all made up misbelief that they want to convince themselves of. And had I listened to all of them, even my newly engaged friends who hid the truth from me, I would not be.
More later. And I will not abandon this site, nor my religious visit to Bad4s site. And I will not become an obnoxious, engaged girl who drapes her hand around Touro to show off the bracelet.

Aidel,
First of all, allow me to wish you Mazel Tov on your engagement.
That being said, are you sure that you're ready for this? Just five days ago, you indicated (and perhaps I read between the lines incorrectly) that you weren't sure of your feelings on this. Even your current post seems to indicate that you aren't completely sure that this is the right move to make at this time - most people *are* euphoric when they get engaged.
As a concerned individual, I ask you to look deep within yourself and decide if this is really what you want at this time. The consequences of making a mistake in this area are severe and could be with you the rest of your life.
If, however, you can honestly do so and say for certain that you are ready, then Mazal Tov! May you both be happy and build a bayis ne'eman b'Yisroel together.

mazel tov!
Mazel Tov!!!
Can't wait to hear all the details. Did you set a date, yet?
Mazel tov!! How exciting. I'm so happy that you found your better half. Hope you have an easy, smooth engagement and a happy life together ad meah veesrim. You don't have to hide. Now is your time in the limelight!! Enjoy it and mazel tov again!
Mazel tov. I usually lurk around here- but I'm thrilled to hear your good news, and hope that the euphoria hits you at some point.
Mazal tov!
Don't hide from the fun.
When life is difficult, there's no option to hide from the pain. But you have to choose to experience the good times!
For sure you can find a way to enjoy the sunshine without burning your friends who are in the shade!
Mazal tov! May you build a bayit neeman b'yisroel, and may you always find joy in each others company!
Thanks brooklyn wolf- but the post was really two weeks old, I just did not publish it until then.
But thanks everyone. It is a crazy time...
Mazal tov! (that was quick... B"H)
mazel tov
Mazal tov! I had a feeling something was in the works...
May you enjoy every happiness together, and be zocheh to build a bayis ne'eman b'Yisrael.
:)
Congratulations! That is wonderful news! And I think you have every right to become obnoxious and show your bracelet off to everyone in Touro. Best wishes to you and your chassan for a very happy life together.
Mazal tov! I have to say that being engaged was the worst 5 months of my life. It seemed like everyone wanted a piece of me, and I had zero privacy; I was everybody's business. Planning my wedding was extremely stressful because it seemed it was about what other people wanted and not what my chosson and i wanted, which seemed counter to the concept of being m'somayach chosson v'kallah.
That was 30+ years ago.
We survived, and happily so. IY"H you will too!
Not true, Wolf. Not everyone gets euphoric; many become miserable.
Anyway, don't do that either - it's fine if you keep your feet on the ground - we won't complain too much. But we won't be shocked if you slowly drift away... happens to everyone.
(Ha... she's engaged... and she was worried she'd be around forever... ha.)
Mazal Tov
:-)
Mazel Tov!! Enjoy every minute!
Mazal Tov.
It didn't THAT long to happen, did it?
